Who knew? Part of body’s first line of defense is its mucous membranes. They play an important role in protecting and fighting off viruses that enter our throats, nasal passages and lungs.
What helps activate those membranes is for us to move! And we’re not just talking to the athletes. Ideally, everyone exercises to the point of being out of breath for at least a good 10-minutes daily.
Whatever that is for you to get out of breath:
a short walk, a sprint, or a dance jig; by being
out of breath daily you help your mucous
membranes fight off viruses and better
protect you for the whole day!
Are you ill? When it comes to movement, the main thing is to do some. Bundle up from the wind and sit outside for a bit. Walk the length of the driveway. It is good for the the body to have some movement when fighting a virus.
Another big part of your immune system’s defense system is to stay hydrated. This goes for everyone in the family. Also hear about how useful a fever is to help fight off a virus. Take a listen!
