Vitamin C is an antioxidant that plays a crucial role in repairing cell damage.

To care for ourselves during the summer, it’s important to ensure our bodies receive an ample supply of vitamin C.

Vitamin C is an antioxidant that plays a crucial role in repairing cell damage. Factors such as stress, sunburn, and dehydration can deplete our body's supply of vitamin C. Here are some essential benefits of vitamin C:

Stimulates collagen production: This supports skin repair and elasticity, helping to reduce wrinkles and fine lines.

Aids in proper iron absorption: This helps increase energy levels.

Reduces the stress hormone cortisol: Supports adrenal gland function.

Hydrates the body and tissues: Vitamin C-rich foods hydrate in a unique way, complementing the hydration from plain water.

Pack it in! Citrus fruits like oranges, lemons, grapefruits, and limes are great sources of vitamin C. Berries and kiwis are also high in vitamin C. Additionally, vegetables such as bell peppers, kale, and broccoli are rich in this essential vitamin.

One of my favorite high-vitamin C refreshers is rosehip tea. I steep a handful of rosehips in hot water, then add lemon juice and pure raw honey. The result is not only delicious but also incredibly refreshing.

At Hope Clinic, we mainly carry Ultrapotent C by Metagenics and C Flav by Orthomolecular. Ultrapotent C has 1000mg of vitamin C and other nutrients to help it work better. C Flav has more flavonoids, which make vitamin C more effective. Most people can take one of each twice daily to support body repair.
