Mocha here, Hope Clinic’s Dogtor. Wag wag! I’m a pretty chill pup most of the time but scary stuff like storms can be arf-ul! Ever wonder if there is help for your anxious furry friend? Stress can affect people and pets alike. Good news! Some of the things that help you might also help your dog or cat!
A remedy my dad, Dr. Brad, calls Emotional Emergency may be helpful in calming you. And did you know it can also help your pet? A few drops in their water or on a treat can help calm them during stressful times like travel, loud noises like thunder or fireworks, or when something new and strange happens!
Here’s a few more tips that might help:
Just like you, your dog will feel better with plenty of exercise. If you’ve seen my dad’s latest video about mooood you know how important it is to get mooooving! 🐄 😂🐄 Daily exercise is one of the best ways to lower stress and it’s free too. So get out and take a long walk together! My favorite place to exercise is the doggie park! I always feel more chill after some time there.
If you’ve met me before you know I wuv attention and affection! It gets my tail wagging, soothes me and it’s good for you too!
I wuv it when my family plays with me! I can get bored and playing games like “go find it” and “hide and seek” are my boredom busters! Woof!
I usually go to work with my dad but I know most dogs don’t do that. When you have to leave your dog home alone, leave out a blanket that smells like you, and make it more fun by hiding toys (or treats!) around the house for him to find. Your pup will really dig it!
Thanks for reading and caring for your furry friends. Woof!
